Weekend in British Columbia, Canada
| November 29, 2016 |
When my parents were in Washington to visit, they traveled all around the state. I feel a little guilty because I didn’t play too much of a role in their planning, and therefore they ended up in a great deal of traffic. Unfortunately, the Seattle and Tacoma areas are always bustling, and I can’t quite seem to comprehend the traffic flows on I-5. Obviously this corner of the world was not built for too many people. But, I digress.
My parents headed to Vancouver after my brothers flew back to New York at Sea-Tac Airport. En route, they hit a great deal of traffic before the Canadian border. Lucky for me, I worked until 6:30pm on Friday night, had to leave a little later, and didn’t hit any traffic before the border. However, it did take me over 1 hour to travel over the Lions Gate Bridge. Oh well! Our first day in Canada was spent exploring Vancouver. We were lucky with beautiful weather, though this definitely didn’t do anything for deferring crowds. Sunday was spent in rainy/low-visibility Squamish and Whistler Village in British Columbia!
I’m going to share my photos and some lyrics from “Shining Bright” by Echosmith I’ve been loving recently in this post because I want to. Also, I may have figured out how to use Flickr and I think I’ll link my Canada album to another post so I don’t put ALL 75 photos on this one. I love playing with all this Internets stuffs. Fun, fun, fun. Also, I’m currently eating peppermint dark chocolate. I think I’m in heaven. Maybe I currently have ADD, too?
I think the universe is on my side
Heaven and Earth have finally aligned
Days are good and that’s they way it should be
You sprinkle star dust on my pillow case
It’s like a moon beam brushed across my face
Nights are good and that’s the way it should be
You make me sing ooh la la laa
You make a girl go ooh ooh
I’m in love, love
Did you see that shooting star tonight?
Were you dazzled by the same constellation?
Did you and Jupiter conspire to get me?
I think you and the Moon and Neptune got it right
‘Cause now I’m shining bright, so bright
Bright, so bright
And I see colors in a different way
You make what doesn’t matter fade to grey
Life is good and that’s the way it should be
That’s how I feel about life right now.
I feel charmed and in love. I feel dazzled and bewildered.
My family is miles away, but they are actually with me. Everyone is with me. I am with everyone. Because we are all one.
I’m shining bright because I’m letting my light shine. I’m shining bright because I am bursting with love for the new people and places I’ve gotten to know.
It’s certainly the work of the Universe. It’s the stars, the moon, and and all the galaxies combining their magical powers with my mind to create all of this magnificence!
And, WOW, is it magnificent! And bright! So bright!
