<< ARCHIVED POST >>
I’ve been feeling under the weather the last few days, filled with sleepless nights, congested sinuses, and pounding headaches. I’ve been flooding my body with: sleep, fluids (green juice 3x/day, coconut water, Alkaline water), tea (Traditional Medicinals® Echinacea Plus Elderberry), sleep, a variety of essential oils in my diffuser (Eucalyptus, Thieves, Purification, Peppermint, Lavender), sleep (did I mention this?), and a giant pot of healthy soup (recipe by KConn).
Perhaps it was too much to travel to NY for Christmas, return to Florida for 3 days, and again depart to Boston for New Year’s. My body is excellent at fighting away infection and sickness, and it seems to be working overtime this round. I know I will feel better with my healthy rituals in no time. Nonetheless, the amount of sleep I’ve embraced in the last two days has been abundant with inspiring dreams. My dreams are usually quite clear upon waking, and in the last few months, they’ve been resonating with me and providing lasting inspiration. Rather than waking and forgetting the previous night’s dreams, they have stayed with me. Over the last two days, I’ve gone on numerous adventures and reached a new level of excitement for 2016. I’m so ready for this year! (Once my body is done fighting this sickness, I’m sure I’ll be even MORE ready).
Okay so. We’ve already discussed my soulful goals for 2016, but the “Infinite Possibilities Project” has inspired me to think of 2016 in an even grandeur way. In this 30-day project, Mike Dooley (creator of “TUT-The Universe Talks” and “Notes from the Universe”) inspires us to shape our year based on our deepest desire and goals. Every day, he posts videos and activities to awaken our dreams.
On day one, I identified areas of my life I’d like to improve, including:
- Presence: living in the moment
- Abundance: feeling like I have and am enough
- Health: physical, mental, emotional
- Relationships: with myself, romantically, and with the world (see below)
- Worldly connection: seeing, doing, and experiencing as much as I can
On day two, I was pushed to explore these areas. I connected these areas development with my core desired feelings (ADVENTURE – LOVE – BLISS – CONNECTED – VIVACIOUS). It appears I desire a great deal from 2016, yet I am open to however I will materialize these soulful goals. Before determining my 2016 theme, I explored what these desired feelings mean to me.
ADVENTURE
I embrace travel, new experiences, the present moment, fearlessness, trust in the unknown, adrenaline-rushing and heart-pumping activities, and all my dreams. I embrace adventure as a means to self-discovery and worldly connection (ah-ha!).
LOVE
As already touched upon, I embrace feeling love (rather than feeling “loved”). Love is the backdrop and essence of my daily life. With love comes great gratitude and appreciation. I am open to love, and it will fill all areas of my life. Old/new relationships, work, travel, adventure, health, etc. will be abundant in love. This makes me think of…
Meraki (noun): the soul, creativity, or love put into something; the essence of yourself that is put into your work
We should devote ourselves to what we do. We should live governed by love and passion, rather than money or material things. Our soul thrives when it is full with purpose, sparked from our heart center. I do all things with love. Take this blog for instance–I love to write, think about the world, dream uncontrollably, manifest the life I’ve always imagined, and co-create my world with beautiful people (like you!). Thus, I’ve combined my passions into a blog. Similarly, my full-time job as a Pediatric Physical Therapist brings me incredible, deeply resonating feelings of gratitude and love. What we give, we receive. Every time. We should give love, and we will get love in return. It really is that simple.
Making great money doing something you’re good at, isn’t the same as making good money doing something you love and are great at.
BLISS
Just the word itself resonates a sense of peace in the way “ss” rolls off my tongue. I AM bliss; I FEEL bliss. By definition:
Bliss (noun): perfect happiness; great joy
Bliss (verb): reach a state of perfect happiness, typically so as to be oblivious of everything else.
I feel bliss in the comfort of familiar faces and spaces. I embrace bliss when I write and explore creativity through artful expression. Bliss is above happiness as it also suggests inner, spiritual peace.
CONNECTED
I embrace the present moment and where I am because it’s exactly where I’m supposed to be. I connect with others through co-dependence to expand my knowledge. I connect with the world and give back a piece of myself. I connect deeply with myself, my intuition, and my heart center. I am aware of my thoughts and thinking, recognizing these thoughts become things. My mind is forever, powerfully connected to my body.
VIVACIOUS
All I do gives me energy because I do all things with love. My enthusiasm and passion speaks through all I do. I am energetic as the food I eat, activities I engage in, and life I live provides me with positive vibes and organic joy. I spread my joy to all in my path.
What can I make of all these details – all these feelings and desires? Well, here it is! My theme for 2016 is (drum roll, please!):
Embrace Limitless Love
Why? I embrace the backdrop of my life as love, gratitude, joy, and spiritual connection with myself and the world. I embrace new adventures, and familiarity. I embrace the current season of my life and where I am. I am limitless – abundant. I am love. I am living – embracing – my life through a loving heart and soul.
Bring it, 2016!
