Ohmygosh, I love the Universe.
The other day, I was telling one of my soul sisters about my favorite store on Long Island and how we should visit while I’m in New York. Henna Happiness in Huntington Village is a spiritual supply shop bursting with good vibes and everything from crystals and tarot decks to henna tattoo art and prayer beads. The small boutique is filled with inspiration and I always get lost in its glory.
I have been thinking about purchasing a new crystal to cultivate positive energy as I am embarking on a new journey. Also, my soul sister has never been to this store, and I was simply itching to bring her. The Universe heard my callings, and delivered a coupon for 20% off crystals the very day I planned to visit the boutique.
*Self high-five* Thank you, Universe.
We meandered through the boutique with open hearts and minds. I was immediately drawn to the plethora of crystals…
When shopping for crystals, I allow my intuition to settle in and see which hues speak to me. I set certain intentions and got the following answers:
Orange Calcite
I wished to find a crystal that would inspire my creativity and I’ve been writing and creating more than ever before (wahoo! How fun!). I was drawn to raw crystals with more rough edges to represent the contemplative, interpretive process of creating. I also felt the warm colors were more inspirational. I was drawn to Orange Calcite, which was even more fitting once I read the description. It stimulates the second chakra (the Sacral Chakra) to connect to the present moment/emotions and ignite joy/passion. This is particularly helpful with writing to let go of judgement and be vulnerable – a renewal of creativity.
Hematite
I also intended to feel grounded and supported in my travels because the future holds some vagabond/gypsy missions. I was drawn to darker, smoother colors and textures. I was drawn to Smoky Quartz originally, but it didn’t feel right in my hand. When I asked the opinion of the shop keeper, I was directed toward Hematite, which was perfectly fitting. It felt heavy in my hand, which gave me a sense of grounding. I also learned that pirates would wear Hematite around their necks to provide a sense of direction. Wow, how fitting…
Amethyst
Finally, I aimed to find a crystal for my father on Father’s Day to support physical health, especially during periods of stress (i.e. tax season). Amethyst was the perfect solution, offering peace and spiritual wisdom. I knew my father would appreciate these properties.
Soulful Discoveries
My soul sister and I then decided to get matching henna tattoos with the “om” symbol in mirror images on our opposite shoulders. We continued wandering around the store as our henna dried. Both of us were attracted to incense cones to “Attract Money” (because who doesn’t need it, really?).
And we marveled at colorful dream catchers throughout the store.
Overall, our souls were fed with a plethora of inspiration and beauty. As usual, I was not disappointed by my journey into Henna Happiness…
With love and gratitude,
KConn
