// we’ve all been here; afraid of what we are fe // we’ve all been here; afraid of what we are feeling and not wanting to embrace it. either because it hurts, or we are afraid it isn’t going to last. as a chronic optimist, i have turned away from some pain the past. tried to paint it with gold. “find the silver lining.” yet, denying my whole experience sometimes only led me to deeper hurt. now, i listen when something feels wrong. when I feel sad. because it’s my heart telling me something. & if i don’t learn to trust my heart, who can i ever trust? i give myself the gift of leaning in to listen with compassion & kindness🙏🏻
-
may i find
gentleness & kindness
in my heart,
as i meet myself
with compassion
rather than tearing
myself apart.
any pain that rises
must also fall,
so i let myself
feel it all.
through the
depths of beauty
& through the pain,
i can see that love
is what's to gain.
-
there was a time
where i denied the pain
afraid that i
would be to blame
yet, at the depths
of my despair
was a feeling i
had to hear;
it awoke me
to the truth inside
and let me see
how to fly

hey friend... it‘s okay to not be okay. it‘s okay to be
tired, to feel sad, to need space and time. it‘s also
okay to have no reason for feeling these things,
but to simply feel them. because we are human.
because we feel. because our emotions are valid
and they flow like the wind and ocean. they come
in a rush, move through us, around us, and then drift away. they are meant to be felt, like a cool breeze or stormy ocean wave crashing around us.
our feelings are here, though temporarily, as a
mirror of our mind, a portal to our subconscious. they are the door to a deeper understanding of our wants, our needs, our desires. we cannot deny our truth. if we deny them, we may lose touch with
these gifts of awareness. listening to our hearts is
strength, not weakness. softening into feelings is where grace and kindness are found in our hearts.
it is time to let our feelings fly freely, without
judgement or shame. welcome them as a piece
of your beautiful, whole heart, and your story.
// Spent my time wisely & freely this weekend wher // Spent my time wisely & freely this weekend where adventure & recovery met at a head. I traveled for the first time in a year via plane to spend time with my man. We had a full day of exploring, but the next day were stuck home recovering from being sick (*not COVID*). We took this as a reminder that slowing down is important. Simply relaxing together like we would’ve if we were living on the same coast. I appreciate these lessons and will always remember there’s no shame in doing nothing... simply being. I wouldn’t change a thing and I’d be “stuck” at home watching Vikings with you any time.
💕
there is magic in
staying at home
and slowing down
with nowhere to go.
when the world
asks us to rush around,
it's in my heart
where comfort is found.
when i allow myself
to simply be,
it releases the pressure
and sets me free.
for adventure
is always waiting
for when i'm ready
and done with resting
💕
it‘s okay to need to stay home
to rest and recover
when you need it most
don‘t let the pressure
overwhelm you
listen to your body
and what you‘re
going through
your spirit is
still the same
no matter where you are
there is no shame
💕
nowhere else
i'd rather be
than resting at home
just you and me
💕
love & gratitude always

// The mountains give me a profound, grounding pea // The mountains give me a profound, grounding peace. I am forever grateful to have traveled, walked, skied, climbed, and explored amongst Mother Nature and God’s creations. I truly appreciate the adventures I’ve had out west & all the beauty left to uncover. There’s so much beauty in this world, I’m just soaking it all in.

“For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.”

// EXACTLY one year ago, @tallymarkprod and I were // EXACTLY one year ago, @tallymarkprod and I were shredding Colorado powwww with @epicpass ⛷! While I'd LOVE to be here right now, I am sitting in my Boston apartment with snow falling outside my window... feeling SO grateful for these adventures! Skiing epic pow by day, then cooking wholesome meals and scrapbooking at night... life couldn't have been better! Meeting up with new and friends, embracing all of life's adventures and unknowns together — THIS is the spirit of my life. I'm cooking up a post on my trip to Colorado, so stay tuned 🙃⛷

This year, I’ve been a liiiiiittle less stoked on skiing because of so many unknowns; like being on the east coast for the first time in many years! Yet... the @epicpass is helping me to get out and explore more and more mountains! I’m also grateful to have family & friends in the area to shred the gnar with 😁 here’s to more skikends - this year and did many to come!
🎿!!
